CHANGES TO THIS REGULATION?

The main changes that we can highlight are:

  • It is not necessary to homologate the degree obtained in the regional Administration.
  • The professional may immediately join his job since registration in the Professional Lifeguard Registry will not be necessary.
  • The approvals disappear and will have to be adapted to each autonomy.

  • Official titles
  • professional certificates
  • Medium degree in first aid and rescue
  • Individual course credentials will not be required.
  • The validity of the teaching project will be 2 years
  • There will be no need to renew the lifeguard title

COMPARISON NEW vs OLD ORDER:

ANCIENT ORDER:

  • Accreditation of individual courses included in the teaching project is required
  • In order to practice, it is necessary to register in the Professional Registry of Aquatic Lifesaving
  • In order to exercise, the teaching entity must process the issuance of certificates and minutes, as well as make the application for registration of the trade of each of the students who have completed the course.
  • Those who have official qualifications and/or professional certificates must register in the Professional Registry of Aquatic Lifeguards
  • In order for the professional to practice, it is necessary to carry out title renewals when it expires

NEW ORDER:

  • Accreditation of individual courses is not required
  • The Professional Registry of Aquatic Lifeguard is annulled
  • Once the course has been completed, the certificate of the teaching entity enables the professional to carry out his trade. This means that the incorporation of him to the work activity is immediate
  • It is not necessary to register in the Professional Lifeguard Registry
  • There will no longer be renewals of the lifeguard title

WHY DID THE CHANGE OCCUR?

The main reason for the change is that the Order had been published for more than 15 years since it was drafted, without presenting any type of modification. That is why, since it had not been updated, it did not contemplate Professional Certificates, that is, it could not be practiced with this certificate as a professional. In turn, the workload of the Ministry of Health has affected the creation of this new Order in order to achieve greater agility in public administrations.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE THE TITLE OF ALIFE WITH THE PREVIOUS ORDER?

If your title of lifeguard in swimming pools and aquatic facilities in the Community of Madrid corresponds to Order 1319/2006, that is, the previous one, it is valid for 2 years from the moment of its issuance, which can be extended for two years. more if the renovation course in swimming pools and aquatic facilities has been completed.

One of the most noticeable changes is that this last title, the renewal course, disappears. Therefore, those people who obtain the lifeguard title with the new regulations will have an INDEFINITE validity.

On November 30, a new extension of validity of one year is published, for those registrations that expire in the following 6 months from the publication of the new order, so all registrations that expire until April 19, 2022, Their qualifications will be valid for up to one year after their expiration.

If your registration expires after April 19, 2022, the qualifications will no longer be valid in the Community of Madrid, you have to take into account that it will be necessary to take the lifeguard requirements again with the new order.
